It has been a busy couple of weeks for the Urban farmer. Getting plants established and trying to make room for new ones.
The newest additions this week were that of sugar peas and a worm bin.
The sugar peas were planted in the newest raised bed of my own construction. I will format some type of removable hoop frame for this bed this weekend as well as plant something with the peas. The peas seem comfortable and I have noticed significant growth in the 24 hours since I have planted them due to the amount of sun they are getting.
I purchased red wigglers this week, getting one of the last two boxes of worms available at my local nursery. This box contains about 200 worms and they were introduced into the worm bin yesterday. I will do my best to leave the bin untouched until sunday, allowing them to get established.
I purchased some seeds this week also and will need to get started on them. Bunch onion, black pansy, turnip, brussel sprouts.
I have three trays of peat pots with kale seeds germinating that will be ready to plant in the next couple weeks.
